  • Kinley Hykway

Sweet little Kinley was a month old when she came for her newborn portraits, My cousin Jesse and his beautiful wife Beth came all the way from Leduc Alberta for our session. Before Kinley was born her grandpa Troy (my uncle) had passed away suddenly. He was the kindest man you'd ever meet with a love for old cars, So without a doubt we wanted to take some portraits to honor him. Jesse took the tire off of his car and hauled it all the way up here for Kinley to be photographed in! It was such a great session and always a wonderful time spent with my cousins!

  • Mario

Sherry contacted me while she was pregant with Salva and Alonso's baby boy Mario. She was their surrogate, so kind, and always willing to explain to me the process of their Journey! I mean, how amazing is she, she grew a baby for another couple. Salva and Alonso flew all the way over from Spain for the birth of their son, When they arrived in Dawson Creek i was able to take some maternity photos of the three of them before Mario was born, I had Danika Rita photography along for the shoot with me as well!. When he came for his newborn session he was Such a sweetheart! The session was so laid back and fun! The three of them have since gone back to Spain! I hope to see them again one day!

  • Malcolm

I had the honor of photographing both Malcolm and his other brother Trevor when they were both Newborn. These two babies were both absolute dreams! Tiny, little dreams! Malcolm was born right before Christmas so i was able to use some of my Santa props and turn him into our Santa baby! I could see so many similarities to Trevor while doing his baby brothers portraits! If all Devyns babies are this amazing she better have 7 of them!!

  • Ozzi and Boomer

Ozzi's mom Kara was the winner of my wrapped mini session giveaway! I was so excited when Kara asked if she could bring their dog Boomer in, He was HUGE and by huge i mean this dog weighs more than me, by a lot! A gentle giant, with the most gorgeous new human sister! Not only was she so dainty and pretty she slept perfectly and didn't move an inch while we got boomer to lay down with her! I hope more clients bring their fur babies with them!

  • Anna Rose Robar

Anna Rose came in for her newborn portraits and was an absolute rockstar!! We did prop shots, beanbag poses, parent shots, two sets of granparent shots all in under 3 hours. She slept like a princess and after i was finished saying how amazing she was she peed on me! She's lucky she's so dang cute and also pretty lucky i always have a spare set of clothes at the studio! Her session was so fun! Holly, her mom, decided to keep her session a surprise and didn't see any of the setups or images until our reveal!

  • Delila Zenner

Delila was five weeks old and absolutely gorgeous when she came in to see me for her newborn portraits! When her grandma asked if i could last minute squeeze in a session for her new grand baby i of course said yes and made a spot for her! She was awake and alert for a very long time! Alot of photographers don't like or won't photograph a baby that old. It can be challenging but always worth it! And you would never know by her final images! She has the most beautiful hair, chubby cheeks, eye lashes, you name it this girl has it all! Looking at her Mamma and Grandma it's not hard to see where she gets it from! I loved getting to visit with everyone and snuggle this sweet baby girl!

  • Kyler Matheson

Kyler came to party! He stayed awake all morning, his mom followed the newborn prep perfectly but he did not want to miss a thing! He stayed awake for well over an hour and a half, just hanging out and talking away. Kylers mom Sabrina and I got to have a nice little visit, but once he fell asleep, he was out light a light and i got to snuggle and pose him perfectly!

  • Why choose Captured by Katie

I wanted to share a little post about booking your newborn session with Captured by Katie.

My goal for every single session is to make beautiful and timeless art of your newborns to be displayed in your home for years to come! When you bring your newborn baby home, you will sit and stare at their tiny little features squeal at how cute their little hands are as they rest so gently on their faces and you will wish that you could freeze time so they could stay this small forever! Let us freeze these moments because they are gone way, way too fast.

When you look back on the images we create, it will almost be like going back in time. I want you to leave our session feeling excited about the images we have created together as well as the different product options I offer. I want you to be able to display the images we’ve created; I want to offer you options for tangible products you can hold in your hands, I want you to see them in an album, on your walls, in your office, not just stuck on a USB in your desk drawer.

I have taken many courses to learn about the safety of your newborns as well as courses on posing, retouching and soothing. My focus during your newborn session is safety; I want your newborn to be completely safe and comfortable at all times. Once your baby is between 7-14 days old, we will book you into the studio, we set aside 2-3 hours for each newborn session. I do not rush this process in the studio; I take my time with each newborn, letting the newborn lead the session. I want to capture every delicate feature; I fix their cute little hair, straighten those tiny little fingers, and take my time capturing everything that is beautiful and unique about them!

I have a large collection of bonnets, tiebacks, wraps, backdrops and props offered in many different colors that we hand pick from for each newborn session. I try at every turn to create a memorable experience for you. After each session we book an image reveal where we will go over your images and choose how you would like to display them, we will pick the best products suitable for you and your family!

I cannot wait to meet you and the most precious little lives you have created, contact me now to book your newborn session!

  • Mercedes

Mercedes was the tiniest 5 pound litte love! Don't let that fool you though, She was a feisty little babe! I couldn't believe the resemblance she had to her older cousin Silas! ( Who i photographed as a newborn! ) She made me work hard, but the images we created were more then worth it! I also can't wait to see all the the beautiful wall art that Lisa and Dallas picked out to hang in their home!
